<p>A fuzzy data processor provided with a data base for storing data to be retrieved including fuzzy data and a fuzzy data dictionary for storing data representing the membership functions of the fuzzy data, corresponding to the fuzzy data. Upon receiving a retrieval command including retrieval conditions including fuzzy data, the processor reads out the membership function data related to the fuzzy data while referring to the dictionary, and executes retrieval operations by using the membership functions. For fuzzy data which are not defined in the fuzzy dictionary, the definition of the data is given in the retrieval command. The definition includes the fuzzy data and the membership function representing the data. In addition, a SET instruction is included in the retrieval command. The processor executes a fuzzy retrieval in accordance with the definition included in the command, and registers the definition in the dictionary.</p> |
