<p>A process for preparing embryonic stem cell-like cells ('ES-like cells') is described. The process includes providing a source of primordial germ ('PG') cells, and a source of feeder cells of a suitable type; contacting the PG cells with the feeder cells; culturing the PG cells in a culture medium; and identifying and isolating ES-like cells from the culture medium; wherein the culture step is performed in the absence of exogenous growth factors and/or exogenous cytokines.</p> |
