It is intended to provide a high-frequency X-ray generator in which the variation range of the drive frequency is low, this frequency being above the frequency of conventional high-frequency, high-voltage generators. A coupling network (4) is connected between the invertor (3) and the high-voltage transformer (5). This coupling network (4) contains an LC series tuned circuit (9, 10) whose capacitance (9) is bridged by an inductance (11). The resonant frequency of the parallel tuned circuit which is formed from the inductance (12) and the winding capacitance (13) of the high-voltage transformer is tuned to the resonant frequency of the parallel tuned circuit (9, 11) at the invertor output.
