A device for arranging a sleeve-like tape on the circumferential surface of an essentially cylindrical cheese loaf is provided with a conveyor path supporting the cheese loaf. The device has at least one holder for a plurality of individual devices used for handling the tape, such as a tape supply roll, a tape deflection means, a tape-guiding means, a tape-cutting means, glue application means and contact pressure means, the latter holding the tape against the circumferential surface of the cheese loaf. A compact and simple device which requires only a relatively small constructional outlay is achieved by virtue of the fact that the cheese loaf can be secured against rotation relative to the conveyor path, that the individual devices can be grouped around the cheese loaf, leaving a passage opening for the latter, and are arranged underneath a common holder which can be driven, together with the individual devices held thereon, about an axis of rotation which is coaxial with respect to the longitudinal centre axis of the cheese loaf.
