Output control valve for a refrigerant compressor

The invention relates to an output control valve for a compressor, working with variable output, for controlling the output of the compressor by an adjustable change in the pressure prevailing in the crank chamber of the compressor. According to the invention, the output control valve possesses a valve mechanism for opening and closing part of a gas-supply channel between an outlet chamber and the crank chamber of the compressor as well as a unit which responds to the outlet pressure and which controls a movement of the valve mechanism in such a way that only when the output pressure of the gaseous refrigerant is below a predetermined pressure level is there a reduction in the cross-sectional area of the said part of the gas-supply channel as a function of a force which, in addition to a further force generated by the outlet pressure of the gaseous refrigerant, is generated by the unit responding to the outlet pressure. The output control valve makes it possible for the compressor to generate a satisfactory refrigerating output irrespective of the ambient temperature.
