The invention relates to a body frame system, in particular A-pillar connecting part, for joining the roof frame, A-pillar, window support and optionally the mud guard arrangement and hinge pillar, all of the connecting and frame parts being formed from extruded profiles, the A-pillar joining profile having at least one closed hollow chamber into which the lateral roof frame profile can be inserted. The invention further relates to a method for assembling a body frame system, in which the individual profiles for the roof frame, for the A-pillar, for the window support and optionally for the mud guard arrangement and hinge pillar are coupled in a predetermined position to an A-pillar connecting part, the roof frame profile being inserted into the A-pillar connecting part and the latter being brought into contact with a previously bevelled connecting surface of the A-pillar, and the A-pillar being connected positively to the contact region of the hinge pillar, and the window support being brought into contact with the A-pillar connecting part or the roof frame profile, the thus positioned profile parts being connected by fusion welding. <IMAGE>
