They are prepared by reacting e.g. a 2:5-dialkyl furan with sulphur mono- or dichloride, or by reacting a 2-alkyl tetra hydrofuranone-3 with H2S. Typical cpds. include bis-(2-methyl-3-furyl)-di-sulphide and 2-methylfuran-3-thiol. Seasoning compositions contain 0.0001-10% of at least one such deriv. |
