PROCESS FOR PRODUCING 3-SUBSTITUTED 2,4,5-TRIFLUOROBENZOIC ACID, AND 4-AMINO-3,5,6-TRIFLUOROPHTHALIC ACID

A 3-substituted 2,4,5-trifluorobenzoic acid is produced by reacting 3,4,5,6-tetrafluorophthalic acid with a compound (I) represented by NHR<1>R<2> to give a liquid reaction mixture containing a 4-substituted 3,5,6-trifluorophthalic acid and decarboxylating the 4-substituted phthalic acid by heating. A particularly preferable example of the 4-substituted phthalic acid is 4-amino-3,5,6-trifluorophthalic acid.
