A reheater (46) is used in air-conditioning system which includes a compressor (12), a condenser (14), an expansion device (16), and an evaporator (18), interconnected by conduits in a closed loop. A centrifugal pump (32) boosts the pressure of the condensed liquid refrigerant by an incremental pressure sufficient to pressure subcool the refrigerant. A reheater (46) adjacent the evaporator and coupled to an outlet of the centrifugal pump receives pressure subcooled liquid refrigerant and cooled air from the evaporator to further subcool the liquid refrigerant below its condensing temperature and partially reheat the cooled flow of air thereby decreasing the relative humidity of the air. A reheater bypass conduit (33) is coupled between an inlet of the evaporator and the outlet of the pump, with bypass control valves (35A, 35B) to control the flow of liquid refrigerant responsive to climate control apparatus (39).
