An immersion nozzle for continuous casting have an immersion nozzle body, at least one opening hole for receiving the molten metal, a vertical bore, at least one pair of exit ports for introducing the molten metal into the mold through the vertical bore, a slit opening for introducing the molten metal downwardly and a downwardly convex surface of the bottom of the vertical bore. The slit opening is located at a bottom end of the body of said immersion nozzle which is below the exit ports and in parallel to the width direction of the mold.
