An infant pushchair side member 10 has a sliding main retaining sleeve 18 which is held in position by a locking detent after being shifted linearly to secure a projecting trunnion 12 of a seat (not shown). The trunnion 12 is retained in co-acting slots of the sleeve and member 10. The locking detent is in the form of a plunger knob 26 resiliently urged eg by a spring 28 inwardly along a headed stud 22 and co-acting with a keyhole shaped slot 24 in sleeve 18. The plunger snap engages in the larger part of the slot to block movement of sleeve 18 so securing trunnion 12 against accidental release. To free the retaining sleeve 18 the detent plunger has to be held out of locking engagement with the slot. Alternatively the locking detent may be in the form of a trigger lever (132, fig 11) having an end (132a, fig 10) which blocks the movement of a pin (122, figs 10 and 11), thereby blocking the movement of sleeve 18. <IMAGE> |
