<p>Wet, fine powdered coal with or without added binder, is pressed into ovoids, ellipsoids, spheres or the like and so that these pellets will retain their shape during a continuous coking process, channels are pressed into them. The grain size of the powdered coal is 3mm and the water content is 5- 8%, the density being >1gm/c.c. Two diametrically opposite conical channels are formed the area of each open end being 1-5% of the whole surface area and the internal separation of the points 2- 10% of the largest dimension.</p> |
