<p>Electric telephone cable is longitudinally water-tight and has a core surrounded by a corrugated metal jacket. Between the core and jacket is a pref. paper or synthetic fleece band coated with a substance which swells when water enters, pref. with swellable starch, water-soluble cellulose derivs., polyvinyl alcohol/acetate, polyvinylpyrrolidine, or polyacrylamide.</p> |
