PURPOSE:To make a limit cutting thickness thick and increase limit cutting speed in a method for cutting a metallic material such as aluminum with a laser beam by spouting assist gas from a preceding nozzle, with a gradient in an oblique rear direction to the cutting schedule path of the metallic material. CONSTITUTION:During a cutting operation, assist gas 1b from a preceding laser nozzle 1, is spouted out with a gradient in an oblique rear direction to the cutting schedule path of a metallic material W. Consequently, before a molten metal produced by the irradiation of a laser beam 1a from a preceding nozzle 1, solidifies, it is blown out far back by strongly receiving the action of this assist gas 1b. Accordingly, the schedule position of the attachment of spatters on the bottom surface of a blind groove 3 formed by the irradiation of the preceding laser beam 1a, is aperted far back relatively from the irradiation position of the preceding laser beam 1a. Therefore, cutting performance by the irradiation of a succeeding laser beam 2a, is improved, and a depth of cut, is deep. |
