A safety railing (1) for roads is continuously or intermittently laid for example along main or secondary roads and highways, and is advantageously directly or indirectly secured to metallic holding pillars (8), typically in a direction parallel to the top of the road. The railing (1) has one or several stiff, longitudinal holders (3), preferably made of metal, that extend in the laying direction of the railing (1). A profiled rubber element (2) is arranged on the holders (3). The rubber element (2) is provided with one or several grooves (4) for receiving the holders (3). Lips (5) are shaped at the edge of the grooves (4) to form-fittingly secure the holders (3). In one of the alternative embodiments, two holders (3) with a C-shaped section or another closed section are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the railing (1). They are preferably made of iron or an iron alloy. The grooves (4) shaped in the rubber element (2) extend parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rubber element (2). One or more recesses are shaped in the rubber element (2) in order to reduce its weight. The rubber element (2) is 2 to 4 m long. |
