PURPOSE:To provide a method for evaluating the quality of stabilized zirconia by which the reliability of stabilized zirconia can be considerably improved by easily and correctly grasping the segregation and unevenness of a stabilizing agent having a significant effect on the material characteristics of stabilized zirconia as a whole. CONSTITUTION:Stabilized zirconia contg. tetragonal crystals is exposed to a steam atmosphere or put in water or an org. solvent, the extent of phase change in the stabilized zirconia is measured and the quality of the stabilized zirconia is evaluated by detecting the segregation of a stabilizing agent in the stabilized zirconia from the measured extent. |
