<p>Antiphlogistic 1-(hydroxy, amido or amino)-acenaphthenes. Title cpds. are those of formula:- (where R1 is 1-6C alkyl; R2 is H or 1-6C alkyl; Y is OH or -NH-Z-R3 in which Z is CO or CH2 and R3 is H, alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl; and X is H, halogen, or 1-6C alkyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl or haloalkoxy) and their salts with acids. (I; Y=OH) may be prepd. by reduction of corr. 1-acenaphthones. Reaction of (I; Y = OH) with R3-CN in the presence of acid yields (I; Y = -NH-CO-R3), and reduction of the latter yields (I; Y = -NH-CH2-R3).</p> |
