<p>A high speed centrifuge comprising matched retorts revolving in a horizontal plane round a central rotating axis and fitted with supplementary flanged screw drives to impose a secondary rotation about the individual retort axes. The liquid mixture is admitted via a channel in a central shaft to the centre of the centrifugel zone, the dense fraction is removed from the lower zone and the light fraction from the upper zone via tubes in the central shaft. Auxiliary radial perforated vanes stabilise the fractions during the centrifuging process.</p> |
