发明名称 ELECTRIC HEATING CATALIST CONTROL DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To execute a safe operation without discharging battery excessively by mounting a control means for controlling switching operation of a series- parallel switching means so as to forbidden electric supply to an electric heating catalyst and charge the battery. CONSTITUTION:An electric heating catalyst 3 is mounted in an exhaust pipe 2 of an automobile engine. Temperature of the electric heating catalyst 3 is detected by a sensor 8. When the temperature of the catalyst 3 is high, a controller 7 switches a series-parallel switching relay 6 to a parallel mode and connects batteries B1, B2 in parallel and the batteries are discharged by a generator. When the temperature of the catalyst 3 is low and discharging capacity of the batteries B1, B2 is larger than predetermined value, the series switching relay 6 is switched to a series mode and the batteries B1, B2 are connected in series and electricity is supplied from the batteries B1, B2 to the electric heating catalyst 3. If even one of the discharging capacity of the batteries B. and B. comes to less than the predetermined value, the batteries B1 and B2 are discharged by connecting them in parallel and discharging to the electric heating catalyst 3 is forbidden. Thus, a safe operation can be secured.
