PURPOSE:To check retreat of a steering column or a swing to the upper side when an impact load not less than a prescribed value is applied from the front side while reducing manufacturing cost by reducing the number of part items, and simplifying the whole constitution. CONSTITUTION:A steering device has a fitting cylinder part 43 in which a lower end part of a steering column 1 can be forcibly inserted and a fixing part 41 fixed to a lower column support member 5, and a resinous lower bracket 4 which can damage the steering column 1 in an unsupportable condition when an impact load not less than a prescribed value is applied from the front side, is formed, and the lower side of the steering column 1 is supported with the lower column support member 5 through the lower bracket 4, and a receiving part to receive the lower end of the steering column 1 is arranged in the fitting cylinder part 43. |
