PURPOSE:To handle Chinese characters with ease and to process information smoothly by converting a spontaneously character information inputted through an input means of endoscope main body to Chinese character, as well as to enable to display the subject image and additional information including Chinese characters on display means of an endoscope apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A Chinese character conversion part 7 build in an endoscope main body 1 converts Japanese syllabary and alphabets inputted through a keyboard 4 of the endoscope main body 1 spontaneously to Chinese characters. Additional information including Chinese characters converted is displayed on a display means 9 of the endoscope main body 1 together with the subject image taken by an endoscope 3.
