<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a new protein for medicines, etc., having proliferation suppressing action of human endometrial fibroblast growth factor, having a specific molecular weight and N-ended amino acid sequence and capable of suppressing proliferation or metastasis of cancer, from an extract of human endometrial cancer. CONSTITUTION:A human endometrial cancer removed by operation is washed with a phosphate buffer solution cooled with ice and then, homogenized in the buffer solution and the homogenate is contrifuged to separate the supernatant and the supernatant is subjected to ultrafiltration using a membrane having 10000 separation limiting molecular weight to afford a crude extract of endometrial cancer. Then, this active fraction is subjected to anion exchange column chromatography and eluted with a buffer solution having 0-1.0MN direct concentration gradient C1 and further, purified by gel filtration to provide the objective new cell proliferation-suppressing protein. The protein has proliferation suppressing action of human endometrial fibroblast growth factor and about 68000 molecular weight measured by gel filtration method and an amino acid sequence expressed by the formula (Xaa is amino acid residue) at N terminal part.</p> |
