PURPOSE:To ensure that a relief printing plate almost exactly correspond to a natural conduit pipe consisting of a deep part and a shallow part, is formed with an uneven pattern corresponding to a fine uneven surface on the background part of a natural wood. CONSTITUTION:This manufacturing method includes an exposure step and an etching step. A mask 2 used in the exposure step has a conduit pipe shadow part 2a which changes its density from thick to pale in accordance with the depth level of a natural conduit pipe. If photo-curable layer is exposed to light through a mask film 2, the degree of a light exposure varies to the conduit pipe shadow part. A shaping die with a projecting part corresponding to a conduit pipe with a profile corresponding exactly to the natural conduit pipe is obtained by corroding a base through a first etching step and a second etching step using the photo-curable layer thus obtained. In addition, a shaping die resembling to the uneven pattern of a natural-grained background part is obtained by forming a fine uneven surface on the flat part of the shaping die by sand blast.
