PURPOSE:To produce cool air in a short time by a method wherein a pump is operated by turning ON an operating switch for a cooling operation, a diluted solution is thereby sent to a regenerator and heated, a refrigerant separated thereby is sent to a condenser, while a valve disposed between the condenser and a refrigerant tank is closed, and the refrigerant is sent from the condenser immediately to an evaporator. CONSTITUTION:Before an operation is started, valves V1, V3 and V5 are closed, a valve V2 is opened, a regenerator 12 is in a state of being empty and an absorbent and a refrigerant are stored in a dilute solution tank 21. When the operation is started by operating a remote control in this condition, only the valve V3 is opened, a motor M1 is driven and a dilute solution is sent from the dilute solution tank 21 to the regenerator 12 by a pump 23. When a liquid surface of the regenerator 12 reaches a prescribed level and a sensor T3 detects this, a fuel supply control valve 15 is opened, a burner 13 is ignited and the refrigerant is heated. A vapor refrigerant thus generated enters a condenser 16 and liquefies. Since the valve V5 is left closed, the liquefied refrigerant flows into an evaporator 10 immediately. Accordingly, a cooling effect is produced in a short time.
