PURPOSE:To produce an elastic chitin web material suitable for the use in the fields of agriculture and clothes, especially in medical field by mixing a cotton-like chitin with another cotton-like material. CONSTITUTION:Crustacean is treated with hydrochloric acid and caustic soda, the obtained poly-N-acetyl-D-glycosan or its derivative (e.g. deacetylated chitin and chitosan) is dissolved in an organic solvent and the fiber produced by spinning the obtained dope is cut to form a cotton-like chitin. The cotton-like chitin is mixed and interlocked with synthetic fiber or natural fiber (e.g. animal or vegetable natural fiber) to obtain an elastic chitin web material exhibiting the characteristics of chitin, especially the excellent curing effect as a curing and protecting material in medical field. |
