PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound, cyanidin-3-E-p-coumaroyl-sambu-bioside which belongs to anthocyanin pigments which causes no color fading and shows heat and light fastness. CONSTITUTION:A new compound: cyanidin-3-E-p-coumaroyl-sambubloslde is separated from the fruits of elderberry by extraction and preparative chromatography and isolated by purification.
