<p>PURPOSE:To supply a total amount of hot water in a tank by a method wherein a separate temp. sensor is provided on the upper part of each tank, the electrically operated valves which close when the temp. sensors detect the presence of cold water are provided on the flow passages respectively of the tanks and pipes are laid between each tank in parallel arrangement so as to reduce water flow resistance. CONSTITUTION:When the hot water in hot water tanks 4a-4c is used in a boiled condition, the hot water is allowed to flow into a hot water supply pipe 10 from the hot water tanks 4a-4c through their respective hot water outlet openings 7a-7c. At the same time, cold water is allowed to flow into the tanks 4a-4c through their respective water inlet openings 6a-6c at the lower parts thereof. In this way, as the hot water is used, the hot water is raised upwardly due to the difference in specific gravity between the hot and cold water. The tanks 4a-4c are then filled with cold water alone and, when temp. sensors 5a-5c detect the presence of the cold water reaching the upper parts of the tanks, a control device 9 closes electrically operated valves 3a-3c to prevent the cold water from leaking out of the hot water supply pipe 10.</p> |
