PURPOSE:To improve the capability of an outdoor unit and reduce the noise by a method wherein the axial cross surface on the downstream side of a bell-mouth, Which covers the outer periphery of an axial flow fan and is extended to the downstream side from the vicinity of the rear edge of the axial flow fan, is tapered, and on the downstream side of the bell-mouth, a comparatively large sized rectangular fan guard is provided. CONSTITUTION:A main body case 1 of an outdoor unit is divided into a machine chamber in which a compressor, etc., are provided, and an air blowing chamber 10 in which a heat-exchanger is performed using a fan, by a partitioning plate. Then, a heat-exchanger 2 is arranged on one side of the air blowing chamber 10. Also, in the main body case 1, a bell-mouth 6 which covers the outer peripheral surface on the outlet side of the axial flow fan 5 and rectifies a suction air stream is provided, and also a fan guard 7 to cover the outer surface of an air blow out port of the fan is attached. In this case, the downstream side of the bell-mouth 6 is formed into a square column form with a step, and the fan guard 7 is formed into a rectangular form in such a manner that the fan guard 7 may have a dimension which is equal to the internal dimension at downstream end of the bell-mouth 6. The fan guard 7 is constituted by providing plate members 14, 15 to form a plurality of lattices with different longitudinal and lateral pitches. |
