PURPOSE:To enhance the light transmissivity of the printing part of a porous layer and to simply form a negative by the thermal head of a thermal printer. CONSTITUTION:An image forming material 1 for a thermal printer is obtained by providing a porous layer 3 and a protective layer 4 on a support 2. The porous layer 3 is formed by applying a resin dissolved in a good solvent and a poor solvent to form a layer having voids and heating this layer to 100 deg.C or higher to collapse the voids thereof. Therefore, the light transmissivity of the porous layer is enhanced. |
