PURPOSE:To obtain a degreasing detergent excellent in an ability to remove and clear off oil, having good safety and good hygienics of working environment and does not cause any environmental problem by mixing pyrrolidone with water and an alcohol. CONSTITUTION:This degreasing detergent comprises 20-95wt.% pyrrolidone, 4.9-50wt.% water and 0.1-30wt.% 3-15 C alcohol. The pyrrolidone used means a liquid containing a pyrrolidone compound as the main component. An example of the pyrrolidone compound which is particularly effective is N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone. The pyrrolidone compound can be used singly or in the form of a mixture of at least two compounds. An unexpected effect brought about by using a pyrrolidone/water mixture as the degreasing detergent is the marked inhibition of the formation of peroxides due to oxidation in air. Since the detergent is usually used repeatedly, the inhibition of the formation of peroxides is very advantageous in respect of the performance as a detergent. |
