This air cooling system by means of compression of the midsole of a shoe comprises a principal body (12), an airbag (14) and an air conduit (16). The air bag is placed in the principal body, to correspond with the heel. Two one-way valves (34, 36) are placed in predetermined parts of the air bag. One end of the air conduit is connected to one of the valves and the other extends to reach the upper surface of the midsole. Stamping (standing about) and jogging give rise to a pumping effect in the airbag which produces suction and causes the air to circulate in and out of the shoe. <IMAGE>
