The invention relates to a method for the production of recombinant bispecific tetravalent antibodies. These antibodies are useful in targeting toxins and activated T cells to tumor cells as well as in immunodiagnostics. These antibodies are constructed by fusing a DNA segment encoding a single chain antibody with a DNA segment encoding an IgG constant region. This fusion is then ligated to a DNA segment encoding a heavy chain variable region with different specificity. Cells are cotransfected with this construct and a vector encoding a light chain variable region having the same specificity as the heavy chain variable region.
|
