<p>An information display apparatus is described comprising an array of staggered electromagnets (1) arranged vertically on a carriage (2). In between the carriage (2) and a mesh frame (3) are a pair of stainless steel metal shields (4) having a castellated form, the electromagnets (1) being located in recesses formed by the castellations. The mesh frame (3) supports rotatable flags (5) which have two contrasting coloured faces. To prevent stray magnetic flux from an energised electromagnet actuating a flag (5) above and/or below the intended flag (5), to be actuated a pair of castellated shields (4) is located between the electromagnets (1) and flags (5). An improved supporting mesh frame (18) comprises moulded rectangular plastics strips (9) having spaced holes (10). The strips (9) are joined by metal rods (11) which fit in the holes (10) forming a mesh support for the flags (5) which rotate about the rod (11).</p> |
