Compositions comprising a calcium channel blocker as an active agent and a biocompatible carrier for fixing the agent temporarily at the site of application, or precursor compounds forming such a biocompatible carrier "in situ". It is useful for the treatment of a body site to enhance tissue healing and regeneration, particularly in dental medicine and in surgery.
