The invention relates to a transfer bridge for ramps, with a bridge plate pivotably mounted on the ramp side about a horizontal axis on the ramp and having a retractable and extendible lengthening piece which is arranged at the free end, is movable in the longitudinal direction of the bridge and is intended to bear on the vehicle to be loaded or unloaded and of which the essentially vertical leg located at the rear end is fastened to the front end of a multiplicity of mutually parallel girders extending longitudinally relative to the bridge and movable longitudinally together with the lengthening piece. In order to simplify the production of the lengthening piece together with the mutually parallel girders located behind it and to allow compensating deformations during production and/or operation, without having to allow for disadvantages in terms of strength, it is proposed by means of the invention to mount the vertical leg of the lengthening piece on a vertical plate fastened to the end face of the girders.
