The invention relates to a process for the partial colour coating of articles made from materials having ferromagnetic properties, in which parts of the surface of the articles or orifices to spaces in the articles which are not to be provided with a colour coat, or not in the intended coating operation, are covered or closed before the coating operation. What is to be provided is a process by which a covering of faces or a closing of spaces to articles having ferromagnetic properties can be achieved at a reduced outlay in terms of labour and production. This object is achieved, according to the invention, in that permanent-magnetic foils are preformed according to the form of the faces or orifices to be covered, are subsequently laid onto the faces or orifices and are attracted by a magnetic force so as to cover the surface sealingly.
