A hydrophilic methacrylate monomer (I) was suspension copolymerized with 10-90 wt.% crosslinking agent such as ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, di- or triethylene glycol dimethacrylate, and the copolymer was reacted with 30-100% halogenated amine salts such as 2-diethylaminoethyl chloride or 2-chloroethylamine at 25-90 degree C for 2-24 hours to give the hydrophilic weak basic ion exchange resin useful for a separating agent.
