PURPOSE:To provide a high-quality external drug for skin containing an ester of 4,5-dicarboxy-4-pentadecanolide or 3-hydroxy-1,3,4-tetradecanetricarboxylic acid and a polyhydroxyl compound or its salt. CONSTITUTION:The objective external drug for skin contains at least one component selected from (A) an ester of 4,5-dicarboxy-4-pentadecanolide of formula and a polyhydroxyl compound, (B) its salt, (C) an ester of 3-hydroxy-1,3,4- tetradecanetricarboxylic acid (produced by opening the lactone ring of the compound of formula) and a polyhydroxyl compound and (D) its salt. The external drug exhibits both anionic and nonionic surface activities to enable the emulsification in acidic region. Furthermore, it has excellent moisture-retaining effect and emollient effect as well as high safety. The polyhydroxyl compound is e.g. polyglycerol, sugars, glycols, etc. |
