PURPOSE:To allow only an IC card user himself or herself to use his or her IC card by deciding the state of a flag stored in the memory of the IC card and performing specific processing only when it is decided that access is permitted. CONSTITUTION:The IC card 1 includes a key input part 3 and a CPU 4. The CPU 4 includes a memory 42 having a storage part for storing various data, a password code storage part for storing a password code, and a storage part for storing a flag indicating whether an external device is allowed to access the data storage part or not and a timer 43 which clocks a constant time from the point of time of the coincidence of the input password code with the contents of the password code storage part. Then, an MPU 41 sets the flat to an access ready state until the timer 43 enters a time-up state. The external device performs the specific processing only when the flat is set to the access ready state. |
