PURPOSE:To provide an optical disk and its reproducing device capable of providing a correct regenerative signal even when high density recording is performed using a light transmissivity variable medium. CONSTITUTION:In the read-in signal area 2 of the optical disk l, a sample pit area where all kinds of pits (nine kinds of 3T-11T pit length) according to a length recorded on the optical disk 1 are recorded is provided. By a control circuit 26, after the optical disk l is loaded, the sample pit area is referred to, and a driving signal 31 is outputted to a detection circuit 25, and the threshold levels of respective regenerative signals are detected. Then, at the time of reproducing read-in information and reproducing information, according to the detection result of the detection circuit 25, the driving signal 32 is outputted to a correction circuit 27, and the threshold level of the regenerative signal is corrected. |
