METHOD FOR FONT DERIVATION IN DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To convert a map-coded font defined in an MODCA document to an execution font inside a data processing system by using a font replacement table. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 106 analyzes the map-coded font structure of the MODCA document 116 provided with the map coded font structure recorded in a memory 102. Then, the font replacement table 108 and an analyzed name are collated. When a matching name is found, an initial code page name and an initial character set name are prepared. Then, a code page name for execution and a character set name for the execution are searched on a font library 110. Then, the code page name for the execution and the character set name for the execution are delivered to the process of printing the MODCA document in a printer 112 and the process for screen-displaying the MODCA document on a display 114.
