<p>PURPOSE:To perform improved resolution conversion at an optional magnifying power without generating interpolation blurs at the time of performing the conversion from low resolution information to high resolution information. CONSTITUTION:An edge is prepared based on the low resolution information inputted from an input terminal 100 and the interpolation information of (NXM) picture elements interpolated in a linear interpolation means 101 equivalent to the picture elements under consideration in an edge preparation means 102. For edge preparation, a maximum value and a minimum value are arranged inside the (NXM) picture elements so as to preserve the density of the picture elements under consideration from the peripheral picture elements of the picture elements under consideration. Arranged picture information is converted to high-definition high resolution information by performing addition and synthesis by an adaptive distribution ratio with linear interpolation information and executing a smoothing means.</p> |
