PURPOSE:To eliminate trouble caused by the sticking of carriers to a photoreceptor by stably holding the carriers recovered from the photoreceptor and surely carrying the carriers to a prescribed recovering position. CONSTITUTION:In this developing device constituted in such a manner that a developing unit 2 developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 by using a developer including the carrier C made of a magnetic material and a recovering unit 3 recovering the carrier C stuck to the surface of the photosensitive body 1 by magnetic force in accordance with the development are arranged side by side along the moving direction of the surface of the photoreceptor 1 so as to closely face it. The recovering unit 3 is constituted so as to provide an outer cylinder 4 rotated around an axis roughly parallel with the surface of the photoreceptor 1 and made of a nonmagnetic material, a recovering magnet 5 arranged so that one magnetic pole is turned to a opposite side to the photoreceptor 1 inside the outer cylinder 4, a means 6 sealing the magnetic field of the other magnetic pole side of the recovering magnet 5 and a carrying means carrying the carrier C captured onto the outer periphery of the outer cylinder 4 by the magnetic force of the former magnetic pole in the peripheral direction following the rotation of the outer cylinder 4. |
