Improved cutting tool intended to be actuated by a variable-speed motor, with a rotary, alternating, or continuously progressing movement exhibiting, for a given material to be cut, an optimum working speed V, characterised in that it includes, at the periphery of a strip (20, 21) formed of a plurality of evenly spaced successive identical elements (25, 26), of width E, each element being formed of two successive sub-elements of different constraints, in which E complies with the general formula: E(in millimetres) = V(millimetres per second) DIVIDED F and in which F denotes the frequency, expressed in flashes per second, of a permanent flashes lamp directed onto the said strip. <IMAGE>
