PURPOSE:To provide the optical recording medium capable of making stable tracking. CONSTITUTION:This optical recording medium 10 consists of an enhancement layer 14, guide layer 15, interference layer 16, recording layer 17, protective layer 18 and reflection layer 19 laminated on a transparent substrate 12. The guide layer 15 is formed with recording regions 20 etched spirally or concentrically at a prescribed width. The light to induce multiple interference between the recording layer 17 and the reflection layer 19 by transmitting the guide layer 15 is decreased and the reflected light quantity is increased by specifying the film thickness of the guide layer 15 to >=20nm and, therefore, the fluctuation in push-pull signals by a fluctuation in the film thickness of the guide layer 15 is lessened. The noise from the guide layer is lessened by confining the film thickness of the guide layer 15 to <=40nm. |
