PURPOSE:To provide a device and a method for forming images, in which laser resolution is varied according to the image formation mode selected, so that good images can be obtained in all of the modes. CONSTITUTION:When laser resolution is changed to 400 or 300 dpi by the control of a copy-mode designating key or a print-mode designating key which are mode selection means, the laser power of a semiconductor laser generator 42, the surface potential (V0) of a photoconductor drum 50, and the developing bias (VB) of the developing roller 54a of a developing unit 54 are changed to respective appropriate values by a CPU serving as variation means. |
