PURPOSE:To execute excellent picture clipping processing for an original picture in a wide range. CONSTITUTION:Plural different algorithms are previously prepared as an algorithm for extracting the contour of a main picture from picture data read by photoelectrically scanning the original picture. Then, one of the plural algorithms is selected based on the characteristic data of the original picture detected from the picture data and the instruction of the algorithm inputted by an operator. The contour is extracted according to the selected algorithm and the picture is clipped based on the extracted contour so as to make a mask plate. |
