STRUCTURE OF HERMETIC SEALING PART OF OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE:To provide a structure for hermetic sealing of an optical fiber which prevents peeling of the boundary surface between a low melting glass and an adhesive and improves the reliability of an optical module. CONSTITUTION:A small-diameter projecting part 11a of a hollow reinforcing sleeve 11 having a projecting shape in the sectional shape at its end is fitted into a cylindrical introducing part 10 integrally formed with a package 2 from its end surface 10a side and the optical 7 is inserted into this reinforcing sleeve 11 and is fixed with low melting glass 13. Adhesive 14 is packed in the reinforcing sleeve 11.
