PURPOSE:To obtain the mobile communication system in which battery saving is implemented efficiently. CONSTITUTION:A base station and a mobile station 10 store a same reply wait time. When a transmitter 16 sends a reply request signal requesting a reply signal from an antenna 12, a control circuit 26 of the mobile station 10 reads a reply wait time corresponding to the reply request signal from a storage device 28. A feeding start time is set to a timer 30 based on the read reply wait time to allow the timer 30 to make counting. When the expiration of the timer 30 is detected, feeding to a receiver 18 is started. Upon the receipt of the reply request signal, since the base station sends a reply signal after lapse of the reply wait time corresponding to the reply request signal, that is, after the mobile station 10 starts feeding to the receiver 18, the mobile station 10 receives it and the feeding to the receiver 18 is stopped after the reception. Thus, power is fed to the receiver 18 of the mobile station 10 as required. |
