The invention discloses a trailer coupling for a passenger vehicle having an elongate support which extends transversely across the back of the vehicle and carries a conventional coupling ball 9 and neck 8. The support is formed of two sheet metal half-shells 2, 3 spot welded together through abutting flanges. The cross section of the support varies along its length being greatest at the middle. The neck 8 is secured to the support by bolts 11.
